The seven components of the Uniform Application

The fee
Section titled “The fee”The Fenwick guide gives only a rough order of magnitude — a license fee “generally costs less than $100/year for admitted lines.” Treat that as a general estimate, not a fee schedule. GROUNDED · Fenwick
Renewal
Section titled “Renewal”Once obtained, a license renews on a state-set cycle — generally every one to three years. Continuing education (CE) is usually required only in your home/ resident state. GROUNDED · Fenwick
The California exception (do this BEFORE you apply)
Section titled “The California exception (do this BEFORE you apply)”California is the only state that requires separate pre-approval of an agency’s name before you file for licensing. If CA is in scope, handle the name first — see 10 California and 02 Corporate prerequisites. GROUNDED · Fenwick
How it fits the path
Section titled “How it fits the path”The application gets you the license. But a license alone doesn’t let you act for a specific insurer — that takes an appointment.
